November's Afghans

This month, I donated 9 afghans made with the yarn from G~'s grandmother. And 21 afghans with the yarn from Auntie M.

Above: the 9 from G~'s grandmothers yarn, and below from Auntie M

Hannah donated 2 afghans that she made from Auntie M's yarn. Here she is in the waiting room of the clinic with them.

Here's a pic of the kids in the waiting room. You can see all the bags of afghans waiting to be turned in. That's a big fish tank that Abby and Zach are looking at. There are more chairs on the other side, so you can view it from both sides.

I'm really shocked that I was able to get 77 afghans done this year. Yes, they are lap afghans, but still...77! My goal for the year was 45. I couldn't have done it without the yarn donations. Yarn is very expensive. And I am very thankful for the donations. Now I'll have to think about a goal for next year. I still have yarn left to use, but I won't start working on them until after Christmas. Calen doesn't go to the clinic again until May of next year. He has dropped down to every 6 months visit. So I may be making extra trips to drop off afghans. That's ok, we'll just go shopping in the big city. :)

Thanks Auntie M

Auntie M in Massachusetts sent me a very large box of yarn from her church's womens group. Look at it all!! This is the pile on my couch. That's a LOT of yarn!

Thank you so much Auntie M and Ladys from her church! Pretty soon, there will be pictures on here of all the afghans I have made with it!

June!

This visit I took 30 afghans. All made with the yarn from G~.

I made a couple of baby afghans different than I usually make. I usually make large granny square afghans, but this time I made small squares and joined them together. They are fun to make, and look pretty, but they take much longer to make than the others.

Calen's next visit is in November.

2 More!

I finished 2 more afghans this week, to take tomorrow. That's a total of 17 donated this month.

Here's a pic of all 15 afghans that I'm taking to the clinic this week:

Here's one of them unfolded. I used Susan's Puffy Flower Afghan Sqaure pattern that she shared for all the purple and pink afghans. Even though they don't look purple and pink in the pic.

You can see the puffy flower better in this pic.

I actually had to cancel Calen's appt today, because of weather. He goes next week, instead. If I have anymore afghans ready, I'll update next week.

Lookie what I got!

G~ gave me a VERY large bag of yarn that belonged to her Grandmother. I already used some for afghans this month. Of course, I did share with Hannah and Abigail, and they were very happy!

This months donation:

3 more spring colored and 3 red white and blue afghans. I have been so busy with farm chores for the last few months, that I didn't get very much time to crochet.
Calen goes for another clinic visit in October. Lets see how many I can have ready!

New Year, New Goal

Except I haven't decided what that goal should be. lol but I did have 14 afghans done to donate this month. Calen only goes for clinic visits every three months this year. Here's a pic of the afghans I donated this month. 2 were primary colors, the other 12 were bright spring pastels. so pretty!

Hannah (10) has learned how to crochet, and made 2 afghans to donate with yarn that she purchased herself. Here's a pic:

The nurse that we gave them to was really nice to Hannah. Complimenting her on the afghans. And told another nurse "She's 10! I couldn't do anything like that when I was 10!" Hannah was happy to be able to donate them.

Calen doesn't go back to the clinic until the end of June. Let's see how many I can get done by then!

I Met my Goal!

I finished 8 afghans this month. I used red, green, and white, for Christmas colors. That brings me up to my goal of 50 for the year!! I'm happy that I was able to complete so many. The kids really love them, and they need them in the cold clinic.

This picture is dark. I always forget to take a pic until I'm packing for the clinic the night before. The lighting in my house stinks! I need to remember to take pics during the day!

Now I have to decide how many afghans I would like to make and donate for 2006.

Calen had an appointment with the surgeon today (no surgery necessary, PTL!!) so I stopped at the clinic and dropped off the afghans I had done. 4 more!
